Aashiqui 3: Anurag Basu clears the air around Triptii Dimri’s exit from Kartik Aaryan’s film

Recently, director Anurag Basu swiftly debunked these reports, asserting, “That’s not true,” and reassuring that Triptii herself was aware of the truth.
Triptii Dimri is on a roll, with a streak of successes spanning two years. Her powerful performance in the blockbuster film Animal showcased her acting prowess, followed by a remarkable 2024 with multiple releases, including Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Bad Newz, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Laila Majnu. However, the actress recently became a victim of negative publicity for reports suggesting that she has been dropped from Aashiqui 3 for being ‘too exposed’ after bold scenes in her previous films.
Rumours emerged claiming Triptii had been dropped from the Kartik Aaryan-starrer following her involvement in look tests and the Mahurat shoot for Aashiqui 3. Recently, director Anurag Basu swiftly debunked these reports, asserting, “That’s not true,” and reassuring that Triptii herself was aware of the truth. Basu made this statement during an interview with Mid-Day. His endorsement has put to rest speculation about the actress’s involvement in Aashiqui 3, still not confirming her starring role alongside Kartik. However, Triptii maintained a dignified silence, opting to let her work speak for itself, amidst the speculations.
Contrary to recent denials, rumours also suggested that the filmmakers are looking for a new female lead. With production slated to commence in late January or early February, the search for her replacement is underway.
For the unversed, Triptii had faced intense backlash for her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in Animal. Recalling the painful experience on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Triptii confessed that the hate and vile comments left her distraught.
Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri’s slate is filled with exciting projects beyond Aashiqui 3. She’s collaborating with Shahid Kapoor in Sajid Nadiadwala’s upcoming film, currently filming under Vishal Bhardwaj’s direction. Additionally, she’s set to star in Dhadak 2 alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Imtiaz Ali’s The Idiot of Istanbul, co-starring Fahadh Faasil reportedly.
