Dharma Productions, known for its trail-blazing contributions to Indian cinema, is poised to make a significant leap by joining forces with the highly anticipated Akaal, starring the powerhouse Gippy Grewal. This collaboration marks Dharma’s foray into the Punjabi film cinema, with a pan-India release in both Punjabi and Hindi, ensuring the film reaches audiences far and wide. This collaboration also marks a significant milestone and creates history as the first Punjabi film to be also released in Hindi.

After successfully presenting blockbuster South Indian films like Baahubali and Devara, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is now expanding its horizons, further solidifying its position as a true pan-India force, a positive consequence of them venturing into a new territory of distribution.

Produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Bhumika Tewari of Dharma Productions along with Gippy Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal of Humble Motions Pictures Fzco, Akaal is a historical drama based on true events, chronicling the tales of Sikh warriors and their unwavering resilience.

Written and directed by Gippy Grewal and slated for release during the festivities of Baisakhi, on April 10, 2025 – the film also stars prominent names like Nimrat Khaira, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Nikitin Dheer, Mita Vashisht, Shinda Grewal, Ekom Grewal, Jaggi Singh, Ashish Duggal, Bhana La, Harinder Bhullar and Jarnail Singh.
