Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed for PM Modi on Sunday over an immediate visit to Manipur to address the ongoing crisis, following the resignation of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Gandhi stressed that the resignation, prompted by public pressure, a Supreme Court investigation, and a no-confidence motion by Congress, was long overdue.

“For nearly two years, BJP’s CM Biren Singh instigated division in Manipur, and PM Modi allowed him to continue despite the violence and destruction of India’s values in the state,” Gandhi wrote in a post on social media platform X.

He further urged the prime minister to listen to the people of Manipur and outline a clear plan to restore peace and normalcy in the region. Gandhi stressed that healing the wounds of Manipur’s people should be the government’s most urgent priority.
