Saif Ali Khan News Live Updates: After days of manhunt, Mumbai Police and Crime Branch finally arrested the accused in the Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan attack case, Mohammad Shariful Islam, in Thane. Shariful was sent to 5-day police custody by a Mumbai court.

As per the Mumbai police, the accused was a Bangladeshi national and had changed his name to Bijoy Das after entering India illegally.

It was further found that the accused was working as housekeeping staff at Ricky’s bar in Thane.

In the early morning hours of January 16, the actor was stabbed six times in his neck and shoulder by the accused who had entered his Bandra West apartment with the intention of theft.

Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent a five-hour-long surgery to remove a 2.5-inch piece of knife from his spine.
